Star Quilt
Posted on July 9th, 2009 No commentsOne of my good friends, Charlotte, took me to my first quilt show shortly after I started quilting. It was the first time I had seen batiks and I was enthralled at them. I walked past a booth that had large rolls of 2 1/2” strips several times and finally bought a roll on our way out. I had no idea what I would do with them and so I kept them for months and months, until I finally found the perfect pattern. I realized that the 5” square exchange at our guild gave me what I needed to start this quilt. As much as I had fallen in love with this fabric, once I started to make it I realized it had to be for my daughter, Lorianna…it would be perfect in her new home, and I wanted her to have it. Part of the fun of making this quilt for her was thinking about her all of the time I was working on it. By the time I was finished enjoying the quilt making process, I was ready to give it to her.
