Pear quiltI made this wall hanging over a weekend.  The pattern
is featured in the current issue of Fons and Porter.  I decided I wanted to make it, pulled all of the fabric from my stash and had it hanging in no time.

Joyful Christmas I bought 2 Laurel Burch quilt kits and gave one kit to my sister Barbara, who lives in Hawaii in November, 2008. Barbara finished hers and sent it to me to have it quilted locally, in Simi Valley. I had seeMyQuiltsonline.com do this for me, and it is so beautiful that it has inspired me to do mine as well. After I had it quilted, I decided to bind it for Barbara’s 60th birthday.  Carol, at seeMyQuiltsonline.com picked out the thread color (gold) and chose the pattern. The pattern is Christmas ornaments, which is perfect for the quilt. I know my sister will love this.

    Sailing Into The Future

    Sailing Into The Future

    “Sailing Into The Future”
The Red River Quilters Guild of Wichita Falls, Texas recently celebrated our 25th year with a quilt challenge. The challenge was to put 25 of something (blocks, buttons, whatever) into a quilt and to use the silver challenge fabric in the quilt. “Sailing Into The Future” was my submission for the challenge. It shows 25 sailboats against a mountainous background with a golden sunrise. The sails of the sailboats are made from the silver challenge fabric. Each sailboat represents a year of our history as we sail together into the future. My quilt earned many oohs and aahs from the quilters and won third place in the competition.

    Chase's Boot Wall Hanging

My daughter wanted to decorate her nursery with a western theme…what fun it was to make this wall hanging for my soon-to-be grandson.  I had saved the pattern from a quilt our guild had made for an outgoing president years ago…what fun to use it again!  He is a big boy now…almost 4 and it still hangs in his room.
